Shining Light Directly on Brain Helps to Reverse Alzheimer's

Researchers discovered that Alzheimer's could be reversed when shining light directly on the brain to boost mitochondria that help to clear away proteins that are toxic.

In 2016, researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge discovered that toxic proteins on the brain of mice were reduced when they shined a light into their eyes.

A headset device developed by Canadian biotech firm Vielight called the Neuro RX Gamma helps to beam gamma wave LED light directly on to hippocampus areas of the brain that affect memory and help to boost mitochondria.

Patients who participated in the 12-week trial regained their memory and saw an improvement in their reading and writing skills after a few months.

This is hopeful, especially for about 6,000,000 people in the United States alone who live with Alzheimer's.
